Gibson Guitar Factory Raided by Feds?

Those of you familiar with musical instrumnets have no doubt heard of the Les Paul electrical guitar (named after its inventor).  Gibson is a quality American manufacturing company based in Tennessee.  Lord knows, we need more American manufacturing companies and the Federal Government should do everything possible to enable Gibson’s success.  You think?

Last week, federal agents raided Gibson factories in Tennessee, disrupted daily operations and seized several pallets of wood utilized in manufacturing guitars.  Why?  According to a government affidavit, Fish and Wildlife Service agents were investigating whether wood used in Gibson guitars was illegally imported from India.

Raiding a company because of wood seems a bit extreme.  Or is it just me?
